Tips to healing an anal fissure quickly?

DS was having blood every time he wiped, so I took him to the dr yesterday. She found an anal fissure. I suspected it was that or a hemorrhoid so I was making sure to increase his fluids, fiber intake, etc. Older DS had constipation issues, but younger DS never has. He's always had the ideal stool! So the only change she told me to make was to put him on Miralax, which I was expecting, but wanted to wait until I knew for sure there wasn't another problem. She also has me putting antibiotic ointment on his rear to help it stay moist. Anything else I can do to help it heal quickly? Poor guy went to the bathroom again tonight and there's blood. His stools don't even look incredibly hard or big, so I'm puzzled why they are causing issues.

Have him wipe with flushable wipes, Walgreens has some nice soft ones. Keep up the fluids and the antibiotic ointment.
