Seven month old doing gymnastics at night!

Not gymnastics really, but I've got a DS who rolls around and has discovered that he can crawl and pull himself up the slats of the crib to the point where he gets himself stuck! He's holding the crib slats and up on his knees. He's not at the point where he knows how to get out of this position and it happens EVERYTIME he wakes up early AM (around 1-2 AM). When I go in and see him in that position, I've got to giggle 'cause he's got this look on his face as if he's saying, "Mama, get me out of this!" :)

We've lowered the crib bed so he won't fall over, but I wonder if there's anything I can do to help him other than putting him back into a prone position? Or should I leave him alone and see if he can do it by himself?

Not speaking from experience but Weissbluth would say let him figure it out. Let us know how it goes!
