Last week we had the flu and according to Ped it can take weeks to get over and DS has a new virus. He's not eating well. Like for lunch has some fruit but no sandwich or milk and doesn't eat more later. We have fed him BLW and the Ellyn Satter way so I offer food but don't force anything. He's never really been sick so this is new to me. Is he just eating less because sick or just needs less food now? When would you worry about it?
Ds can take weeks to start eating normally again. Even without being sick, he goes through periods when he eats very little. His eating will pick up eventually, and he may be super hungry for a while!
I don't think it's a problem if he's not feeling well.
My DD won't eat when she's feeling ill or when she needs to make a BM. I roll with it.
When she's sick, I tend to stock up on juice, soup, and coconut water popsicles.
Sorry! Second time DD did this today I thought she was on my phone but she found my folder on the IPad and decided to do some typing.

So long as he is drinking, I wouldn't worry at less than 5 days of no food, only drinks. The longest Ds2 went with no food at all, only drinks, was 10 days. Then days 10-14 he ate about 4 crackers and 2 berries all day. I was completely freaked out, but the Dr. didn't even want to see him so long as he was "better" (no fever or other continuing symptoms) and he was hydrated.
Ds1 recently had strep and was off for about a week.
