system still won't recognize my email.

I think I may have broken a couple of rules here,but I didn't know what else to do and I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to straighten it all out.
I tried to log in under my name and the system wouldn't recognize my password. I was told via email what to do and when it came time to submit my email address the system wouldn't recognize it . Unfortunatly I don't think I've ever had a differant email address to my account so now i really don't know what to do .
Am I in violation of the board rules since there are now multiple usernames for me? I'd really like to have my old account back if that's possible but I really don't know how to achieve that. What do I do next.
