Default RE: Do I really NEED a rocker-glider?

We got a Poang chair and the footrest from Ikea - it's very comfy, doesn't look like a glider/rocker and it also has give in the frame so if you put the a little bit of that back to front motion you would get from a rocker into your waist - you get the same effect. Besides which there are no bits for the baby to get her dingers caught in later on. LAter on - it will make a great chair for the both of you to sit in a read a book. Just a thought

We didn't get a glider until our DD was about 10 months old, so you can definitely wait a bit. I'm cheap too. ;) I didn't need it for the early months since we have a comfortable couch. But it sure came in handy to rock her to sleep at that age of "not supposed to nurse to sleep, but baby still will not go to sleep on her own". At 2.5 yrs, I still rock her to sleep in it when she's cranky or sick.
