    Default convertible crib--which one?

We want a white convertible crib for our baby. We are looking at the following 2. Does anyone have either of these? Pros/cons? Any other cribs to consider instead? Also I've only seen these cribs online, does anyone know where I can see them IRL? TIA for any and all help.

Baby's Dream sea island convertible--looks nicer and better made but a lot more expensive.

Simplicity Aspen 4-in-1 deluxe--we like the features and it's a lot more in our budget but with the recall of the 3-in-1 I'm worried about buying this crib.

What about any of the brands at BRU? Are they any good? Any that you recommend?

    Default RE: convertible crib--which one?

My husband and I were going to go with a crib set from BRU but then I realized that the set didn't come with a dresser and I KNEW I'd need that piece the most for all of our son's things. So, I looked elsewhere online for a style that both my husband and I liked (had to be sturdy looking) and found a beautiful set made by Sorelle furniture. You can see it at:

    http://www.sorellefurniture.com/collections.php

    The collection that we chose:

The collection I want for our next child:

You have to look at the list of stores in your area on the website to go see how much it costs (I won't lie, the whole set together was pricier than a whole set from BRU but the difference is amazing in that it's SOLID wood on all the pieces with good construction). The store that we found our set at let us do payments via layaway, even when we had to order a piece that wasn't in stock. The link to Locate Dealers is:

The way my husband and I looked at it is if we take the cost of the furniture set and divide that by the number of years of use we'll get out of it, we know it's not that much to pay. The crib converts to a very nice full sized bed and none of the furniture screams "baby". It'll cost us a lot less than a full set of bedroom furniture for US is going to be, lol!

I hope this helps you out.

I know this thread is a little outdated, but for the future reference of anyone reading it. I personally prefer Baby's Dream Furniture because of it's beauty, longevity, quality & sturdiness and you'll never have to purchase another bed up till they are grown, unless you just want to.
