Default ISO white flowy or maybe gauzy dress for pictures...

i always see cute pictures of little girls on the beach in their flowy little maybe gauzy dresses. SOOO cute. i know pictures often turn out best when the outfit is simple and cute. Any recommendations for cute white dresses like this? another option would be a cute set of top and white bloomer type pants maybe? something summery and pretty, definitely white.

am looking to get some outdoor pics done now that she's walking, hooray!!!

Both Gap and Old Navy has some cute white eyelet dresses this year and last year. They are sold out now, but you can find them on ebay. I found 1 at ON on clearance for 2.99, then found 2 others in the right sizes to do a cousins photo when we vacation at the Outer Banks with my brother this September. Just search on ebay for white eyelet old navy or gap.

I'm actually in search of the same thing right now since we're going to the beach in a couple weeks. Naartjie (http://www.naartjie.homestead.com) has a couple possibilities. They aren't exactly what I'm looking for, but you might want to check them out. I almost wondered about buying slips instead of dresses... like very simple cotton full slips. I'm not sure where to find them, but it seems like that might achieve the right look.

While we're on this topic... we took this family picture recently. Do you think the exact same attire would work for beach pictures? Or does it need some changes - like short sleeves for me? (I'm in capris) untucked button-down shirt for DH? Different dresses for the girls? Any suggestions? Unless I find a better solution, this may be our beach portrait attire:

I want to get outdoor pics of both my girls in this dress, but I will have to wait until next year as my youngest is too little this season. If you decide to go with a dress from this store, I'd recommend calling one of the actual stores and having them send it to you as sometimes they have lower prices than online and they were very helpful in knowing what size to order. It seems to me that these dresses run pretty big (long). You'll have to post pics once you get them taken!

Right after I finished posting, I remembered Strasburg Children, and knew they would have the perfect dresses. I came back here to post it, and you beat me to it! Their stuff is always so insanely expensive, but I may have to start frequenting the store to check for sale items. Maybe I can snag a couple perfect beach dresses for next year. Even their little simple slip dresses would be great.

This is the one I like from Strasburg (and a personal fave):

You can also do a petticoat or slip which is VERY sweet and cheaper:

    Ann,
We have a Strasburg Children outlet in Houston- about 30 min from me. I was just there next week and didn't see anything like that on the clearance racks (probably b/c it's not out of season yet!)...anyway, you could always try looking on their site, then calling one of their outlets to see if they've got it for less. I've been amazed at how many outlets are willing to do this.

That's a beautiful family portrait, too!

What a beautiful family! I think your outfit is perfect for beach pictures. I'd put DH in an untucked long-sleeve white dress shirt and roll up the sleeves. The girls should be in all white slips. There are some perfect petticoats at www.aprilcornell.com. I believe someone posted a 25% off code recently too. You can do a search to find it. Oh, and no shoes for anybody! Here are the petticoats:

    for your older DD:

    and the little on:

Don't forget to post your pictures when you get them done! I'm sure everyone would love to see them.

    Tammy,

I agree with the posters who mentioned Strasburg Children. They have numerous dresses that fit your description. I always buy my girls 1-2 dresses a season from there. They are so beautiful. In fact, I just bought my oldest daughter a dress there on Friday for her 4 year picture. I almost bought a white one (there were several different styles I was choosing between), but I ended up with a light blue one because it really brought out the blue of her eyes.

They were having a big Memorial Day sale, but I think it ends today (or possibly even yesterday).
