Default Reality Layette Photo Challenge #1

It's time for our reality layette photo challenge to begin. Each week, we'll choose a "theme" for pictures and people can post a submittal of a photo they took. The photo should be recent, e.g. from the week of the challenge; however, extraudinary old photos won't be overlooked! Afterall, we all love to look at our darling babies.

This week's mission is take a close-up photo of your child. Try to capture just a part of them. Pictures of hands or feet alone would be perfect. Close-ups of just the face are also acceptable.

Here's an "old" photo of Abbie that I adore. The actual photo is on my old, crashed computer, so please excuse the link.

Next week we'll move on to a new theme and even learn some photo-taking skills along the way!

ETA: cropping and using photoshop (or whatever) to enhance your photo is just fine! In fact, we'll probably learn just as much seeing how people crop their photos differently. If you want to be a "tutor" for the group, include both your original and your cropped versions.

What a terrific idea! I will try to take a different close-up this week of hands, feet, etc., but here's one I have from early April that I can post tonight. She was at Disney World, chilling in her stroller. :-)

    Thanks for the post!

I took these of Meredith when she was a few weeks old, after my best friend, who missed her birth said, "Oh I wish I could come over and just love on every little bit of her!!" So, I emailed her these....

Great idea! And I have a CJ too! Here's 2 pictures of my little guy...I just took them a couple of weeks ago to use the for his birth announcement.

This was his first "real" bath...full bathtub and everything. I love this picture because I've seen his daddy give me the exact same look:

and I just love this one too...

I'll play! This is Mari's hand at 3-months of age when we first met her in Guatemala in December. She is home now but moves too fast for cool hand pics right now!

Please ignore the dirty nails; we had only just met. LOL

She wiggled her fingers so much, and this one looked like she was signing "I love you" :)

That's exactly what I meant by hands and feet. Those are great photos!

I love it! And trust me that as she gets older those nails won't look bad to you anymore! It seems like everytime I turn around CJ's nails look like they should be filed and polished (because they're so long!).

I adore your second photo, and the feet look like they were done by a pro. I really want to learn about taking black and white photos. I haven't done it yet, and I can't wait to challenge myself to do it.

Quick response and cute smirk on her face. That photo is perfect for another potential challenge -- catchlights where you see a reflection in the eyes. I think I can see you taking the picture.

This is an old that I took of Ava at around seven months old. It's still one of my favorites.
