Default Suggestions for a push toy

Hi ~ my DS is 9 months old and I am looking for a toy that he can push while walking. I'm not crazy about the idea of getting him a walker, he already has the evenflo stationary walker and the FP Jumperoo. What kind of push toys are available out there? TIA!

DS had the Fisher Price version of this and loved it. It really helped him learn how to walk. I don't think FP still makes it; I found mine at a yard sale:

I don't know how the Little Tykes version compares.

We had the LT Wide Tracker Activity Walker. It served its purpose well. DS did not play with any of the activities except removing the 2 doors on the front (all the time) and sometimes dropping the plastic envelopes into the doors. Be advised that once the doors are removed, this area becomes a fun place to climb and stand.

For the price, it was decent. DS enjoyed pushing it around. If you aren't opposed to this kind of walker, Radio Flyer also makes several nice ones as does Parents (Around the Block Walker Wagon). http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...=glance&s=toys

If you are just looking for a push toy that doesn't help support your child while walking, the FP Corn Popper push toy is a classic. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...=toys&n=283062 The popping sound annoys me, but DS loves this toy when we are at others' homes. We have the TOMY Push Along Thomas. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/sgoldman/thomtanentra.html I like it, but the handle is removable (so you can play with it on the floor) but DS likes to remove the handle and wave it around, which can be dangerous.

HI, we had this car push toy/walker for a long time and really liked it. It eventually became a role-playing toy after my oldest outgrew the walker stage. I am not sure whether they are still making it though. Here is one I found on eBay. HTH

ETA: we don't have this one, but our neighbor does. Both my boys love to play with it: DS1 rides it and DS2 pushes it.

How about the radio flyer #12

It's the first thing DS goes for when he enters the play room.

We have the Parents Around the Block Wagon. We bought it at Target, but I don't think they carry it anymore. DS loves it. He uses it to push/walk, but also loves the beads and the blocks included in it! It was a great purchase.

If you don't want to purchase a walker, we've also used a box and an upside down laundry basket for DS to push around and he didn't know the difference!

Nolan is also 9 mos & we use the FP Activity walker. Similar to the LT toy in the first reply. Nolan started walking w/it on Easter. Up until then he just used it to pull up & got mad that it wouldn't go anywhere. :)

    I bought our's at TRU & it's a little different. I think it was $19.99.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions!

I love the Radio Flyer wagon but that is way out of our price range. Maybe grandpa can get that for his birthday :)

LT & FP activity walkers were just what I was looking for. Since he's not quite adept at pulling up yet, he can still play on the floor. They look like good strong toys to learn how to pull up on, am I correct?

    Thanks again!

Caroline, At first I kept a pretty close eye on him. Nolan fell a couple times with &/or on his FP walker toy. Even got a bruise. :( He did play with the toys on it. He got quite frustrated with it at first, b/f he could walk with it & now he is a pro! Cruising through the house & up & down the driveway.
