Magnatiles
DD#1 started playing with Magnatiles at 3 years and 4 months. She LOVES them and plays with them every day. They are great for when she wakes up early in the morning and we're not quite ready to start the day. She just plays with Magnatiles until it's time to get up. She builds all sorts of 3D structures with them and it's been a good teacher for persistence and not falling apart. She now knows that if they fall down, it's just another opportunity to build again. When she first started, she would get upset if it fell apart, but now I love how she'll be working on something, it'll fall apart and she'll say, "It wanted to be builded again."
Anyway, these are probably her current favorite toy and admittedly, DH and I enjoy playing with them as well.

RE: MagnaTiles
That's too funny, I think we posted withing seconds of each other. Yes, absolutely great toy. We bought them each a small set for their b-days and they have played with them daily. I just ordered a set of 100, the deluxe set,and the working trucks and hopefully can hold off and give those to them for Christmas but part of me wants them to have it now to see what else the can come up with with more pieces.

RE: MagnaTiles
LOL, I originally thought about maybe getting her these for Christmas, but when they arrived, it just looked like so much fun. We got the 100 pc clear and the DX set and she started playing with it right away every day and it soon became clear that we didn't quite have enough pieces to do all the things she wanted to build (or that DH and I wanted to build ;) ). Anyway, definitely a lot of fun!
