Default The toddler vacuum that works?

I keep hearing rumor, there's a little kids vacuum that is not only a toy but actually works! Is this true? Where have you seen it? What brand? Ds LOVES to vacuum.

Yes, it's a mini Hoover. The suction is pretty pathetic compared to our Dyson ;) Ours was a gift, so no idea where you would get it, but I suspect Toys r us has it.

I got all excited about this last year and went out to buy the little Hoover. It does "work" in that it makes noise, but it DOES NOT clean the floors. I was so disappointed! With the way DS vacuums, I was looking forward to spotless floors! There may be another one that really picks up dirt, but it's not the Hoover that you buy at TRU. :(

ETA: Well wouldn't you know, I guess it does pick up dirt! After reading Denise's post I went back to look more closely at our vacuum since it sounded the same. Inside I found a bag full of lint that DS has apparently vacuumed up over the last year! I would have sworn that it wasn't picking up anything! So you still won't get spotless floors, but you may get a little help with the cleaning after all!

We have one by Red Box (I hadn't heard of that brand, but my mom bought it at an independent toy store). It does work, but will not pick up larger objects. You will see hair, lint, carpet fuzz, etc. in there, though. I wouldn't rely on the toddler vacuum to clean the house. It's not that powerful.

Oh, I know, I just figured if he's going to be vacuuming up a storm, it may as well be doing SOMETHING.

That looks nice, however we have uprights and Ds would probably not like one that does not resemble the ones he is used to.

How about this one? It claims 3 suction level control. Don't know if that actually will suck up dirt or if it is just for looks.
I guess you could call Miele or a dealer about that.

We have the Hoover WindTunnel one from TRU and it does work. Of course, the suction isn't very powerful so it doesn't pick up much but does pick up lint and the like and deposit it into the "bag". :)
