Default What is the "Big" BIRTHDAY GIFT that YOU give your child? Post ideas!

I'm looking more for the "big" gifts that you give to
your child. In my family, on your birthday, you always
got one big gift from Mom & Dad. But, I'm stuck as
what to get my daughter this year for her 4th birthday.
Thought I would just post the birthdays 1st - 6th and
that way more people can benefit from the answers. :)

    Thanks for your help!

ETA: I changed the wording of my post. I didn't word
it right to get the desired answer.

Default RE: 3rd birthday gift ideas...

My daughter just had her 3rd birthday. She loves anything that has to do with pretend play like her dollhouse, playfood, etc. She LOVES her dress-clothes and accessories like shoes, hats, scarves, cell phone. She dresses up at least once a day. We got her the dress-up clothes from www.lillianvernon.com and the accessories from TRU.

She now also really likes board games and wooden puzzles. We just got her some games like Memory and Candyland.

What about a personalized cd? We saw some in a mall kiosk. We have the Veggie Tales personalized CD.

Books are always a hit too- especially with mom and dad. :)

    HTH!

Default RE: 1st birthday gift ideas...

Corie, I hope this will become a comprehensive gift-giving thread! DS just turned one so here's a list of some of his favorite gifts:

Drum, bells, maracas, xylophone - he loves to make music!
    Radio Flyer walker wagon
    Incrediblock
    Big tub of LEGOs!
    Books, books and more books!
    Little Tykes swing for outside

He also loves playing with his Leap Frog Learning Table, the Stand up Ball Blast and this tractor with Old Macdonald and five animals who ride along, complete with music and animal sounds. He has such fun!

Good luck to you and I hope others will contribute their brilliant ideas!

    Stephanie

Sorry, I must have submitted my original response just before you changed the wording. :-)

DH and I bought the Fisher Price Learning Home for DS on his first birthday but we haven't even given it to him yet because he is so busy enjoying the other toys! It's a loooong way 'til Christmas so we'll probably give it to him in another few months.

My parents asked for recommendations so the big gift from them was the RF Walker Wagon.

    HTH!
    Stephanie
