Default Eurotub: Has anyone replaced the draining tube?

My one complaint with the Eurotub is that it gets disgusting inside the tube that attaches to the drain and it's difficult to clean. We pulled the tub out of storage to use with baby #2, but the tube on ours is just too gross to use with our sweet new baby.

    Has anyone replaced theirs?

I'm thinking that I'd almost rather replace it with some kind of cap or cork -- we don't use the tube for draining and it's just a place for gunk to collect. Has anyone else tried this before? Did it work?

    TIA,

Is the Primo Eurobath the same as what you call "Eurotub"? I have the Primo Eurobath and it did not come with a drain tube. It only has a plug at the bottom of the tub and I've never had a problem with it.

Yep. This is the same tub I have, but mine is 3 years old.

If you look at the picture in the link, mine has a tube and you plug one end into the bottom and the other end into the soap-dish like part at the top. It sounds like they've wisely re-designed it a bit. Maybe I can get a replacement part.

    Thanks!

Ah yes...I'm familiar with that gross tube. I think I cleaned it by soaking it in hot water and bleach and it helped. If you're able to get a replacement part, though, please post again and let us know!

ETA: I've also seen similar clear plastic tubing at the hardware store...reels of it in various sizes, and I assume you could just have them cut off a short piece for you. HTH!

My drain plug broke off and we need a replacement. I haven't had a sec to contact their customer service.

If you find out what their customer service number is can you please let me know. I too need to replace my cap.

    Thanks
    Nancy

I soaked ours in vinegar and cleaned it out a bit with Q-tip. Just in case you don't feel like spending $5.
