    DD is 4 -

    Hits so far:
    Lite Bright
    Breyer Horse
    Mr. Scetch scented markers
    Washable stamp pad w/multiple colors
    Cassette player w/mic

She was so overwhelmed, it will take a few days to see what she's really into. It was funny how she was most interested in the simple things like the scented markers and stamp pad.

DD got too many gifts at once to appreciate them, so this is hard to answer at this point. She's 2 years and 4 1/2 months old ...

    Possible hits:

I know she loved the "dress up" stuff my sister got her, and the sleepwear that she thought was for "dress up":

I got her a dress up trunk which I filled with the Disney Princess dress up set plus lots of accessories like shoes, hats, purses, fake jewelry, magic wands, and she loves it. In particular, she loves:

**Cinderella costume including plastic shoes and crown
**Sleeping Beauty nightgown that she thinks is a costume gown to go to a "ball" (she watches Cinderella too much) -- she wore this all night and would not take it off
**Snow White slippers that she called "Glass Slippers" -- wouldn't take these off all night
**Fairy/Butterfly wings (walked around with these on until she got the nightgown and slippers)
**I *think* she really likes the Cinderella figurines, but who knows how shortlived that will be
**Table Top Puppet Theater by Alex Toys -- she wanted me to put on puppet shows with the finger puppets she got from my grandparents (from Restoration), but we had too many presents to open up and too much going on to play with it. I'll see if she's still interested tomorrow.
**Cinderella pillow and soft doll -- I'll have to see how long her interest in the doll lasts.
**Floppy princess doll -- not sure this will last because she has more dolls than is humanly possible and doesn't have a favorite and doesn't play with them that often
**Books: there were a few books she wanted me to read right away!
**Puzzles -- she got a ton of them. I didn't have enough that were age appropriate and made the mistake of telling everyone, so she got about 15 puzzles!
    ** Musical Instrument set
ETA: She also got the Target cash register and loves it. I do think though she would have liked the Learning Express one with bar codes you can stick on things, even better. For now, it's great.

She got tons more presents (more dolls, ughhhhhhh (2 baby dolls, two floppy doll, 2 porcelein collectors' dolls), lots of clothes, lots of DVD's, colorforms, art supplies), but these are the gifts that held her interest for more than a few minutes. Oh, and if anyone read my previous post about DD wanting a black elephant, my sister got her the Shleich elephant and a wooly mammoth from Starbucks, and my mom gave her a leather/wood elephant she had in her house. She looked at them for a few seconds, and moved on!!!! Too funny!

My oldest (9) and my dh have been having a BLAST with the Wedgits. I did too. The 2 yo has a bit, but the 4 yo hasn't touched them! PM me if you don't want to keep yours....LOL DH said he needed more to build the 'really cool' stuff. LOL

I must've done well this year....everything's pretty much been a hit!

    Schliech horses
    Snap and Style dolls
    Playmobil
    spring horse
    Wedgits

I bought stuff intending for them to play together and that's worked out really well. Whew!

The only so so miss is the Baby's First LeapPad. Meredith's been destroying the big girls' LeapPad and she's not so interested in one of her own for more than about 2 minutes at a time.

    DS is 2 years old.

    BIG hits:

    -Costco Construction City Train Table
-Kiddio Supertrike 4 from my sister
-Sally, Doc Hudson, Mater, Fillmore and Lightning McQueen Diecast cars

    Hits:

-Mega Bloks Tiny and Tough Car Hauler with 6 cars to go with track he already had
-Truck that holds and stores 24 matchbox style cars
-Cars book with magnetic drawing board attached from Costco (GREAT in the car)
    -Plastic flashlight from my aunt

    Misses:
-Plastic Buzz Lightyear car from FIL
-Ryan's Room Firetruck and Helping Heros (I have hope for this yet!)
-Book from MIL, the same one she gave him last year, (ibsert eyeroll)

ETA: I learned alot since last Christmas so nearly everything from us was a hit. Last year I bargain shopped and bought things because they were on sale or because *I* loved them. This year we went with what he loved most and it was a transportation-themed Christmas here. If it had wheels he would most likely love it.

A hit with my 2.5 yr old was the little Safari playset bought on sale at FAO. This was NOT a hit with me as the paint on the little figurines is already peeling badly and as a result the entire little family has matching bald spots on their heads. I am kind of upset about the bad quality, but 1. it was on sale, and 2. he does love playing with it.

He and DH liked the Elmo TMX too, but I did not particularly love it either. Not for $35, anyway.
