Here's a nice buying guide to get you started on your search, but I'm sure you'll get loads of opinions, too.

Ask more questions as you learn more about the features you want.
Also, check www.carseatdata.org to see if any particular seats work well in your car or a similar model year.

    Hi,

When I was in the market for a convertible seat, all the research pointed towards the Britax as the best for safety. Because of the high price tag I was skeptical, but one time when I was at BabiesRUs, one of the sales persons took the cover off of the Britax, and off of the Evenflo Triumph, which is the #2 carseat. The Britax has much more "stuff" between the frame and the seat cover than does the Evenflo. I'm not sure if its padding, or some type of foam, or whatever you call it, but it seemed to me that a baby in an accident in a Britax might be in a better position than one in a seat w/o as much "stuff" under the cover. We have 2 Britax Roundabout seats now, one in my car and one in my husbands.

    Good luck,

    Heather
