Default Max out height/weight limit or upgrade to larger seat?

Does anyone know whether it is safer to max out the height and weight limits of a convertible seat or move to a larger-capacity seat? We have a Britax Roundabout and DS is 2.5 yo, 38" tall and weighs 36 lbs. I definitely plan to keep him in a 5-pt harness for several more years, and I'm wondering if we should move to a Marathon or even something more high-end like a Recaro or SafeGuard, where he would be on the low end of the limits rather than the top.

    Thanks!

It's ok to max it out (40 pounds or shoulders at the top slots), as it's THE nicest seat you can buy, I don't think you should rush out of it. Hopefully in a couple more months there'll be more choices out there for higher weight harnessing (the current Recaro only goes to 40, wouldn't do you much good with such a big fella).
