Roundabout Latch reconfiguration?

I just got a Roundabout today from a neighbor down the street - guaranteed never in an accident. Of course the manual is not with it. It was manufactured in 12/04.
I need to change the latch back to rear-facing and have NO idea how to do that - the area where it goes (according to the tiny picture on the seat) seems almost impossible to get the strap in there - the latch pieces are too big to thread through. Am I missing something? Do you need pictures?

It should go through the rear-facing belt path.

Okay that makes better sense! From the little pictures on the side it looked like it went thru this little triangular area right below where the shoulder strap connection is.
