    Default "Best" inexpensive seats?

We are Britax fans and scrape our pennies to afford them, but not everyone feels the same or has the same amount of pennies, KWIM? My friends and even strangers (it's those flashy britax covers! Esp. cowmoo) ask about my seats. When they ask about the price tag, some are really taken aback. What other seats could I suggest? I've only had a Graco snugride and my Britax fleet ~ 1 RA, 2 MA's & a Husky.
So, I'd like to give my plethora of preggie friends some less $ options. So, what are your cheapest faves?
    bucket?
    convertible?
    youth?
    booster?
    Thanks!

Just add our new favorite to the suggestion list... the Safety 1st Uptown is an awesome $99 seat from Walmart that has a britax-esque velour cushy cover, rearfaces to 35 pounds, has 16 inch top slots to forward face a little longer than even the Roundabout (15.5)(still 40 pounds, though), and EPP head protective foam, and nice non-twist straps.

    :)

It's the car safety 101 thread at the top.

We need to update it! I love the Evenflo Triumph Advance :)

We got a Safety 1st Uptown this spring to use as our travel seat and in the car that DS rarely rides in. I've been very happy with it. It feels like it's pretty cushy and comfortable for DS and it's SO much lighter than our Blvd for hauling around airports. Installation is pretty easy, too, although not quite as easy as the blvd. I think it was only $80 when I bought it, but it might have gone up since then!
