Default Does BOB Revolution Duallie fit through doors?

I found a store in my area that actually stocks most of the double strollers I've been considering and took a few for a test drive yesterday. The BJCSD and the BOB were my two frontrunners, but I fell completely in love with the BOB for its light weight and how incredibly easy it is to push/steer. My only concern is that it is a little wider than the BJCSD. I currently own a Valco Twin, which I believe is just about the narrowest SBS double you can get, and I sometimes feel like it's barely making it through doorways. So I'm looking to hear from some people who own the BOB Revolution Duallie - what has been your experience getting it through standard doorways? I'd be looking to enter Starbucks, grocery stores, etc. Thanks!

    Hi,

The BOB Revolution Duallie is a good inch wider than the other strollers you mentioned. It's 30.8" wide.

That said, you should have absolutely no problem getting through any store's doorway, or getting around in any other publicly accessible location that is required to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

ADA mandates a door width of 36".

Of course, some older doors may be 32" wide, if it's not feasible to widen the doorway of a public location.

Just check your own home's doors (i.e., at least the doors you may need the stroller to clear). If they've got at least 32" of clearance, you're fine.

And, yes, the 2007 BOB Revolution Duallie is wonderful! Make sure you're looking at a 2007-- there were some nice improvements over the 2006 models.

    Happy strollering!

    :)

I currently own the Valco but am choosing between the singles of the strollers you have mentioned. What did you decide? Here are my questions for you (I have been looking for a Valco owner!)

My son needs a better canopy, and it seems that these two fit the bill. But . . . what about the slinginess? We have the 2005 Valco, in the most upright way possible. So as someone who has seen all of them, which can get the most upright? If the Valco and the Bob are similar in the uprightness category, then I am great to go with that one. If the Valco is comparable to the BJCS, then I will have to get that one. Thanks.

Hi - My DD had the same issue with wanting to sit as upright as possible - that's why I originally chose the Valco over the MBUD, which is the other stroller I was considering at the time I bought the Valco. I ended up with the BOB this time. My kids and I are all very happy with it, but I do have to say that the seats do not go as upright as the Valco. They're not really "slingy" - they do have some structure to them and you can adjust the recline to some extent, but they don't go perfectly upright. Strangely my DD is not bothered by this, although I was afraid she would be. The BJCD I didn't end up seriously considering after I "test drove" both it and the BOB and the BOB was SOOOOO much easier to push - seriously, it is like pushing a feather. So I can't really comment on the seats with that one.

Since you're looking for a single and your main requirements seem to be a great canopy and fully upright seats, have you considered the Zooper Zydeco? That is my absolute all-time favorite stroller - the canopy and the seat recline mechanism are both amazing - if they made a double version, that would have been my choice hands-down.

    HTH...
