    Default Cabinet locks

Does anyone know of a good resource that describes the different varieties of cabinet locks available and which work for different types of cabinets?

    Thanks!

I don't know of a good resource, but I can help from a little experience. I found the Gerber spring loaded to be the best for the money (at BRU). They even worked well on drawers, and they don't allow your child to open the cabinet more than an inch or so. I found these after trial/error and asking 2 friends with older children. The tot-locks are considered the best, but most people that I have talked to find them to be a pain (to install, can't find the "key", etc.) and they are expensive. Some people save the tot-locks for more dangerous cabinets.

BTW, now that my child is 22 months old, she has kind of figured out the spring locks. I have installed locks on the outside handles on some of my more dangerous cabinets, and I have friends with children around the same age who have done the same.

    I hope that helps!
