what are the best gates?

I need to put a gate on the stairs and some rooms and wood like one hand open gates preferably wooden, any ideas? thanks Nancy

The latch is a bit of a trick to get the hang of (it is a one-hand operation), but very quickly you can breeze through it without even breaking step. And our VERY rambunctious two-year-old has not been able to get over or through it yet.

It's a bit of a trick to install where there is baseboard present, but we just added a vertical strip of wood above the baseboard to give the top and bottom an even base to attach to.
