Default covers for outlets in use with big cords?

I bought the Safety First covers for outlets in use, but they don't accommodate most of the things I plug in these days. Everything from my hairdryer to Homedics white noise machine has those big transformer plugs. I decided to buy a power strip so I could just have one cord going to the outlet in James' room, but the power strip cord is so fat that the Safety First cover wouldn't fit it, either. I made it get in there by prying off part of the plastic, but the cover has still worn away some of the electrical cord's epoxy covering. I don't think the wires are close to being exposed, but I don't know how deep they are, and it makes me nervous. Does anyone make covers that are more accommodating of today's thicker cords and plugs? I know there are power strip covers, but I am talking about covers for the actual wall outlet.
