Default Baby Gates to keep baby out, but allow cats through...

So, we have 5 cats of varying sizes. Some thin, some fat. They all need to be able to get to the litter boxes in the bathrooms. But we would prefer not to allow the baby into the litter boxes or into the bathrooms yet. Are there any gates out there that have rails separated enough to allow a cat through but keep a toddler out? And still be convenient to open for adults? And not involve screwing into wooden doorframes?? Jumping over is not an option for two of our old ladies.

Also, we have a spiral staircase about 4 feet wide. Any gates out there that could work at all (letting cats through as well?)

    Are we asking too much?

    Thanks!

we mount our gates 6 inches off the floor, and allow the cats to scoot under. I don't think we did this until DS was 12 mos old, so too big to fit under. Not sure if it would've been an issue when he was smaller.

We have one gate mounted about 6" off of the floor, too, and one where my DH removed one of the vertical bars so that the cat could slide through. We watch Colin closely around this gate so that he doesn't do anything silly like get his head stuck, but so far it hasn't been a problem.

We have the Evenflo Secure Solutions and also have 4 cats. Our cats seem to find some way through. Some go under, some go over and some go through.
