    Default Furniture latches

    Hi-

Is it necessary to install furniture latches on heavy bookcases? We installed them onto the cheap bookcases/drawers that we have in Julia's room since they are made of pressed wood and are light.

We have a heavy armoire made of real wood in our room and a entertainment center that is made up of 3 tall cabinets. Do these need to be connected to the wall? Is heavier furniture more likely to stay in place if pulled on by a child?
    Thanks~

Personally, I would bolt everything to the wall regardless of how heavy it is. But then, I live in earthquake country, and it doubles as earthquake safety, too. Plus, the heavier it is, the more damage it could do to a small child.
