we have a 2 inch raised tile hearth around our fireplace. my biggest concern about this is the potential for tripping...although we don't walk around it much, i'm sure lauren WILL!
is this something i should be concerned about, and if so, what can i do about it?

If you are worried, get one of the baby gates/super yards that is self-standing, and place it around the hearth. Or move a piece of furniture in front of there for now - like a big ottoman or something else that will keep her from walking near the hearth.
