    Default Stove Knob Babyproofing

Is there anything out there other than the Safety 1st stove knob covers? They suck royally! The stupid things just fall off every time I open them. The only other ones I have found you have to remove the knob each time to use. Not much help. May as well just leave the knobs off! I have an old freestanding gas stove and there is nothing to prevent DS from just turing knob and lighting the burners (you don't have to press it in to turn and there is no delay in lighting.) Is there anything else I can do?

This is late, and I hope you have found a solution, because I was going to ask the same thing. The Safety 1st knob covers are really bad. We don't have trouble with them falling off, but ds can open them just by pulling on them. Our stove is just a few years old, but the stove knobs are on the front. Ds simply reaches up and pulls on the cover and it opens!

Bumping this up to see if anyone has any solutions for us. Thanks.

ETA that I have considered removing the knobs when not in use, but then there are metal pointy things sticking out, which seems like an accident waiting to happen also.

I haven't tried these because I have a cooktop now versus a range but they look like they might work:

I'm not sure if they're heat-proof or not.

We have them and they work great (and look better than the knob covers). Only one complaint, and it could just be us and our oven, but if you REALLY push in, you can still start the oven. I think it takes far more strength than any toddler that I am aware of, but just wanted full-disclosure :)

I just recently purchased these and they do seem that they will do the trick. I was not able to push in the knob with these in place. The nice thing is that they are barely noticeable when they are on, unlike the knob covers.
