Default suggestions for cabinets and drawers: we're renters!

I need to figuer out how to babyproof our kitchen cabinets and drawers. I see two solutions that are very popular:

    1) using a plastic device over the handles of the cabinets. Our cabinets don't have handles

2)tot-locks- we rent and are not allowed to drill into our cabinets and drawers.

I know that somewhere, there must be some sort of solution with an adhesive that will work for us. I haven't found at Target, BRU, or Right Start.

I had ordered some of the plastic devices to go over the handles of cabinets from Safebeginnings.com. I just put one on the cabinet today and, with not too much force, the plastic latch loosens considerably..enough for the drawers to open some. I do not know if DC would be able to use enough force to open also, but I don't want to take the chance.
So, I am also looking for another solution. I do not want to go through the hassle of tot loks, though. I hope we can find something else.

Safebeginnings and OneStepAhead have adhesive ones (the same product).

No problem. I've just been ordering over the past few weeks-I think this stuff's coming out of my ears.

This is dependent on your relationship with the landlord and may not even be an option, but would they be totally opposed to Tot-locks? Since they can be "turned off", they don't need to be removed for the next renters and can actually be a selling point if the next family has kids. This may be preferable to damage from adhesives.

It may be worth asking, especially if you are only doing a few cabinets. We only have part of the kitchen locked - under the sink and the heavy glass dishes - the rest is baby friendly pans. Just make sure to get permission in writing so there is no question when you move out.
