    Default Gates & hardwood flooring

We need to gate off our tv/stereo/speakers. I've searched the old posts and it looks like the Superyard is a good gate to go with. However, I've read the Amazon reviews and it looks like it doesn't work with hardwood floors (what we have) when used with the playpen set-up. Grrrr!

I'm wondering if it would work if we just wanted to block something off vs keeping dd inside of one. I understand that if she's in a playpen setup, she can move it around. However, if it's placed around the tv, would she still really be able to move it around? Wouldn't the walls kinda help keep it in place (Am I making any sense here, lol?)

Or should we just go with a gate that you have to mount to the walls? And if so, which gate is recommended?

    TIA!

Is she getting into the tv/stereo/speakers now?

I like to take a wait and see approach. If it becomes a problem, then you find a solution. If she doesn't touch it, then there's no need to barricade it.

She's not even crawling, although it looks like she will any day now.

I'm worried because we have a plasma tv that is perched on a 2 1/2 foot high free-standing cabinet. I'm worried that if she shakes the cabinet at all the plasma tv will fall over. If it were a regular tv, I wouldn't be as concerned, but since it's a plasma, I'm a bit more concerned. Plus the floor is not level, so the tv actually leans a bit forward. Yikes!

Maybe we'll wait and see, but I'd still like to know my options in case we need to buy a gate.

    Makes total sense!

Either the superyard or the Configure Gate are probably your best bets.

What brand is the Configure Gate? (or is that the brand?)

Have you already anchored the tv and cabinet to a wall?

No. I'm pretty sure we cannot anchor the tv to the wall. That's why I'm interested in blocking it off instead.
