Default Advice on babyproofing the pedestal fan

    Hi
We are using the pedestal fans in combination with ACs to beat the heat. But, are afraid that DS - who is already trying to hold up on the rod to pull himself to standing- will drop it on himself and get hurt. They have a round base. BUt, DS seems pretty resourceful. So, we are still concerned about it...

Does anyone know of a way of securing the fan to the floor? I am considerign velcroing it down to the floor... although it will spoil the floor.. is there something heavy that can be put down on pedestal.. Any ideas?

Also, he loves to play with its cord. We can secure part of it on the wall, but there is some wire that is bound to come to the fan thats far from the wall.. any ideas on baby proofing that?

    Thanks so much

Hi there, Velcro is one solution, the others include standing the fan behind furniture. Can you push a large chair or sofa into a corner and place the fan behind it? This is the best solution and cost/damage free. Also try looking at these cord covers and cable ties you could use:
