Mad at myself! - Picture Added

Grrr, when I updated, I lost the original post. Quick recap: I decided I couldn't wait for DH to get home and tried to move a queen size bed by myself. In the process, I broke the bed - ripped the wood apart like a lumberjack!

Thank you, mamas! I so didn't think I was going to be able to laugh about this for quite some time, but you've already got me giggling about it. In some ways it's just so typical of something to happen to me - home improvement gone wrong, but in other ways, I'm known for being fairly independent and not needed help. In any case, short of a cinder block to hold up that side of the bed, I really doubt this is fixable. That whole corner of the bed is now sitting on the floor. DH wont be upset - it was my bedroom set before we got married. We had to get a new set because this bed has spindles on the head and footboards and he's so tall his feet used to get caught in them.

ETA: I'm feeling kind of powerful now - like, yeah, look what I did (with attitude!)

That is SO something that would happen to me! The first incident off the top of my head is when I wanted to move some furniture in my dd's room - and didn't want to wait for my dh to help. I moved her dresser across the room - and you got it - I left a enormous gash all the way across the hard wood floor. Beautiful.

I agree with a PP, close the door, walk away and fix yourself something chocolatey!!

Ugh, that really sucks. Totally something I would do- I can never wait for DH either. I was 14 weeks preggo with DD when we moved into this house, and when Sears brought our dryer the vent tube was too big, so I was climbing over the dryer, pushing and pulling it, to fit a better vent tube. I ended up tearing the vinyl flooring in the laundry room. I tried to play it off with DH like I didn't know how it happened, but I'm not a very good liar! I don't know if he was more mad that I ripped the floor or that I did it all while pregnant!

I hope you can fix the bed.

Now that I'm seeing the picture, I'd like you to go to a mirror, and say to yourself with a silly bad Russian accent (like a bad Bond Girl):

"I am voman. Strong like bull. Drink yodka and eat borscht. Crush man with Russian voman thighs. Break bed. Yah."

(I'm starting to think that the let-down of the pregnancy hormones post partum are doing funny things to me...)
