    Default My oven broke

Well, the electronic top panel did. It beeped a few times and is now flashing E1 -F1-.

I have to bake dinner (lasagna and cheesy potatoes) for a family tonight. The stuff is ready and in the fridge. Fortunately, my neighbor will let me use her oven, but still the timing stinks!

    Off to shop ovens.

Try fixing it before buying a new one! Right before we moved into our last house, the oven did something similar. I'm not sure exactly, just something with the electronic panel.

The owner fixed it and it didn't cost much at all!

Since its a "computer" type error, you might also try turning off the power to it (maybe at the breaker?) and seeing if it resets itself.

We moved into this house nearly 2 years ago. Right before we moved in, the previous owners replaced that back panel because it died. I'm not sure I want to invest money on just another couple of years.

Also, it's gas and the burners don't ignite by themselves. We have to use a lighter. I'm not totally sorry to be (maybe) getting a new one, it's just bad timing!

I've been without an oven before (most recently this entire last week) and it's so terrible! (((hugs))) it's never a good time to lose an oven.

For some reason, it suddenly struck me that this would make a wonderful addition in the greeting card aisle.

    "Our sympathies for your loss..."
    (inside)
"It's never a good time to lose an oven."

Don't know why. Damn my free-associating mind!

That sucks. But yeah! You get to go appliance shopping!

In times like these it makes me glad we sprang for the micro/convection combo when we built our house. I've been using mine all week instead of the big gas oven. It's great to not heat up the house!
