Default my back is killing me

DS2 is a moose - he weighed about 14 lbs at 6 weeks. He was 8 lbs at birth. Yeah, about 1 lb a week.

And he, like DS1, wants to be held/carried/worn *most* of the time. My right shoulder/upper back is killing me. I have a Hotsling, but just switched to a Catbird Baby Mei Tei.

    But my back still hurts.

I'm sorry. The bright side is he's growing.

My DS is a moose too esp. compared to dd at his age. I have arthritis in my wrists and it's been really painful the last couple months. To think they'll only get bigger.

I love them most when they are sleeping.--Me

R is just like that - it's really tough on the back. At 7mos, he's 20lbs. The bright side is that my biceps are rocking...yours will too, I bet.

I have been able to get relief in an odd way - I lay on the floor on my stomach, and I lift my arms, palms up, towards the ceiling, while pointing my toes and slightly lifting my legs off the floor. I'm sure this is a yoga pose of some sort, but I don't know which one. I hold for 15-20 seconds (or until N climbs on my back). It's worth a shot, right?

    (((hugs))) (where's the backrub smiley?)

You have my sympathy. Toby grew insanely fast as an infant so I know how heavy even young babies can get.

Petra is right that the upside is rocking biceps ;)

Same here, 10 lbs @ 6 wks (6.7 at birth). I have major pre-ex back issues & she wants to be held ALL day. I don't even have a sling-not sure what to buy.

I hope you feel better sson!

    nak

*hugs* Caroline! L is a *mouse* (8 1/2 lbs right now) and my back hurts, too! I carry her in a KKP, but only on one side (I need to try switching shoulders to give my arm a break.) Is the mei tei easy to use? I think a 2-shoulder system might be better for me.

Petra, I will try that stretch you recommend, I hope it helps at least a little!
