I just wanted to thank everyone for all the nice wishes. I'm still pretty much a mess, but at least I'm going a few hours between sobbing fits now.
My manager made me stay home today, and I'm pretty sure she'd be ok if I stayed home tomorrow, but I can't just sit around and think about it.
Our other cat is very sad, too - he keeps looking for Kirk. I think he's lonely - he's lived with Kirk since he was three months old. Poor guy.

I am so, so very sorry for your loss.
As the mom to three cats myself, I know how big of a part of the family they can be.
I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a pet - they are members of the family and it is so hard to lose them.
Hugs,

I'm so sorry for your loss.
You're going to be ok....
big hugs...
I had a similar situation years ago with my cat Junior. A friend recommended a book "The New Natural Cat" by Anitra Frazier (who loves her cats more than most people love each other) - and I realized that Junior's kidney failure was brought on by the lousy cat food I gave him. Dry food is especially hard on male cats. I can't recommend this book enough. And also something else - go to your local animal shelter and look at all the kitties there that would love to have a home. I went by our local shelter recently, and saw a cat that looked just like Junior, that had been in her cage since July a year ago! Of course, I took her home, and named her... Junior Jr.
You have a lot of love to give. Don't let it go to waste!
Hugs
It's so sad when we lose our animal family members.
