Calling manufacturer to check order

I have to say that after reading all of this stuff I am a little scared. I ordered my dress (St Patrick) in March and was told that it would arrive in July. Will the manufacturer allow you to call to check on the order and make sure the bridal shop isn't pulling your leg?

Sorry for the delay in this response, but we wanted to answer this for other brides who might wonder the same thing.

In short, the answer is no. Most designers will refuse to check an order status for a bride; they view their customer as the bridal retailer, not the consumer. (And most are not computerized, so they can't simply pop in a PO or tracking number anyway!).
