    Default Alteration costs

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with making their dresses bigger? I found one I liked at VOWS in Newton, MA but it's too small. It zips but is very snug. the wedding is a year away and I'm hoping to lose some weight before then but obviously, I can't really count on this. Is it worth buying something on sale that's too small (I'm normally a size 10 so the bridal sample size 10 never fits) or will the alterations be so much it's not worth it.

    Thanks for your input.

    Default RE: Alteration costs

I purchased my dress at Vows as well. It was a size too small also. I brought it to a seamstress for tailoring and waited until a few weeks before the wedding to actually make the changes. I ended up being able to lose the weight so kepp positive:) I don't remember how much the alterations were going to cost but I was very conscious of expenses and this does not stick out as being one I was worried about. My advice is...but the dress you love. It will work out either way!
