Beware Bianca's: Modesto, CA

Beware of this bridal salon. My friend ordered her bridesmaid dress there for another friend's wedding. They measured her and ordered a size 16, though she usually wears a size 10. When the dress came, it was, of course, several sizes too large--if taken in at the waist the tank-top sleeves would still be nowhere near the vicinity of her shoulders. They quoted her $165 for alterations, which nearly doubled the "price" of the dress. I gave her the number of an excellent private alterations person who is fixing the dress for $28. Both my friend and I are getting married in the next year, and neither of us will set foot in Bianca's in Modesto.

Thank you for this post. I almost went to Biana's but after reading this I avoided it all together. I have bought my dres online, and would love to know who you would recommend for alterations. Also, do you know of a good wedding consultant in the Modesto area?
