Just a suggestion...

It might be fun to have a forum where people can find other board members who live in the same area/region and can arrange for meet-ups and other group activities. There is a current thread in the lounge about meeting other board members and I thought that people might like to post in a forum (perhaps organized by regions/subregions like the MDC board) dedicated to this. Some such groups of BB members do already exist, but this might be a great way for other parents to find/make friends who can be more tangible than virtual if thet'd like to.

I like that idea! Speaking of which -- is anybody else out there in the Phoenix Valley? We're expecting our first in February, and would love to hear from others in the area -- especially since we're still new to the Valley.

I'd like to see this too. Most other boards have regional sections (this one already has a Canada section). I think it would make it much easier for people discuss regional related things and meet other people.

I think this would be great too. Our first baby is due in January and I don't know any other moms here. It would be great if people would be interested in starting a mommies group :)

I think you need 50 posts to be a member but I am not sure..try to do a Join This Group and see what response you get from Beth (egolber) who is the moderator.

Yay! Glad to hear that there's a group in this area. I just tried to join, but my yahoo ID is reston_family, so I don't know how the moderator will know that I'm the same person as sarafran on this board...
