Default not for you, but maybe pass it along?

thought of a potentially useful safety feature for high chairs when Jack started choking (swallow the food before putting more in your mouth, honey) last week.

a emergency safety strap release on the back of the high chair.

i'm pretty darn calm in a crisis usually (how many trauma alerts have I been to?) but I was panicking a little trying to get the 5 point harness undone and get his flailing arms through the straps to get him out. luckily he coughed it out on his own, but it was a little scary.

Shannon - This has happened to us too. Probably 2-3 times we've started to yank the tray off and unbuckle Jake, but he managed to disloge the food. Yikes! Scary! And hard to get him unbuckled quickly enough if we really needed to!

Glad he was okay! I get scared sometimes when Ryan starts to choke too but I try to remain calm since 99% of the time he just coughs through it.

That is a great idea since there are too many steps between taking off the tran and then unsnapping both sides to get him out. :)

Good idea! Hopefully, baby product makers that read this board are taking note!
