Children - Safe Furniture Finishers

Greetings, I would greatly appreciate some information on a child-safe furniture finish to be used on two oak toddler rockers. The chairs are currently unfinished, bare sanded, oak wood. I am looking to finish both chairs with a clear coat that is durable and teether safe.

Hi Julie, When I asked this question at Home Depot they just said that all water based paints/varnishes are child-safe. Of course the HD salespeople are not neccessarily child-saftey specialists. I too would be curious if anyone has any more info on this. --Susan
