(OT) Computer gurus: possible to network PC & Mac on cable modem?

We saw a wireless router at Costco for around $100 and wondered if it would be possible to use this to link up a PC (currently the only thing connected to the cable modem) and an iBook. I believe this can be done with an AirPort, but the other router was cheaper...

Any suggestions?
