Bumping this up. I bought letters from MIchaels that were about 3-4" tall. I'm wondering if that's too small. Here is a sample picture. I bought yellow paint but haven't painted yet.

Carren - those are the exact letters we used. I never painted them, but did have visions of painting them white. They actually looked just fine natural, IMO, but it might depend on whether you put DD in something that contrasts w/ the natural enough to set it off well.
