We're hoping to get a portable DVD player for our upcoming flight to Australia. Looking for suggestions... cheaper is better as we won't use it that often. How long is the battery life in general? I'm thinking we'll want more than 2-3 hours of DVD time on a 14 hr flight (+ 6 on the flight before that). Is there a way to recharge it on a plane? Can you buy an extra battery to double your time?

We got the Audiovox DVD player from Sams (8" screen I think). I don't remember the model or the price, sorry! But we use it a few times a year when we travel and have been very happy with it.

The cheapest we could find where we live was an LG. I think the screen is about 8" as well. The battery life is three hours for video, four hours for audio. With our model, we need to plug it in to a power source for recharging.
