Default DH and duct tape part three of a seemingly endless series

Kate got a couple belated baby gifts in the past few weeks that I wrote nice thank you notes for. Well, one giftgiver, my SIL, and I just spoke for the first time since she got the note. DH is kind enough to take my mail to the post office as he goes everyday for work and thinks things get out faster than putting directly in mailbox. Apparently he has been adding a length of duct tape to the back of my envelopes before he mails them. I just called him at work to ask him why on earth he would do this.

Oh, gosh. I read a number of your posts and every time you post about your DH, I think of my FIL. A few years ago, we attended a wedding and FIL showed me that he had duct taped the hem of his suit. Sure, he duct taped it from the inside, but still! Of course, then he went around showing everyone! He does things like this all the time.

There is definite future hope for Nick. My DH is the EXACT opposite of his father! :)

Isn't duct tape pretty heavy - well, compared to paper and envelopes, at least? Maybe you can have a rule that he can put duct tape on as long as he doesn't increase the postage required!

Hard to argue with "Saliva isn't secure"...

Susan, you may want to think about self-adhesive envelopes :P.

LOL! Where does he get it all from? You can't just "make up" your DH, you have a walking-talking book deal on your hands.

    Susan,

I just ordered notes for Matthew and was trying to decide if I wanted the envelopes printed with our address (we are planning to move) or to just get cute return address stickers. The lady at our stationary store suggested the labels and then said instead of "licking and sticking" the envelopes closed I could just put the address labels accross the back flap of the envelope to seal it. I figured that would be the way to go - she showed me some cute labels. She NEVER mentioned the duct tape option. And to think I have been using her for years and valuing her opinion. Guess it's time to find a new stationary store!

I think your hubby should try printing your return address on the duct tape and patent it. You may just have the next greatest invention!!!!

Susan, during the whole bio-terrorist phase, was your dh one of those that bought stores worth of duct tape? Is he now trying to get rid of it all? :-). Seriously, you got a very funny guy there!
