Several months back a few members of this website got our own BBB discount code. I just raved about the magazine here: http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboar...=383538#383531
ETA: That magazine's not for everyone. Given that, I might buy or borrow one copy to preview it and see what you think before buying a subscription.
HTH!
I've been a subscriber for a year and have mixed feelings. In each issue there is usually one article I enjoy. Typically it is the articles about mothering experiences. Often the informational articles are not well researched/ thorough, IMO.
It is certainly different than most other magazines, and it may be worth a try. It just isn't the quality that I had expected. It seems more like a college magazine.
Didn't like it at all.

I'm not crazy about it. I thought it had one or two good articles but not what I was looking for.

I have enjoyed it a lot. That said, I have never been a big fan of mainstream magazines. Brain, Child had, for me, articles that were more thoughtful and/or in depth. The quarterly format suits my schedule, too, as I don't have a lot of extra time to keep up with a weekly or most monthlies!
I know lots of people rave about it, but I didn't like it enough to renew. It was interesting and definitely different than most mainstream parenting mags, but I didn't quite click with it. I always found an article or two that was interesting, but there were always several articles I didn't like, found uninteresting or worse, just seemed wrong.
Now, my DD is 4 and my son is 17 months and I haven't subscribed to a mainstream mag (except for Family Fun) in a couple of years, so maybe I'm just not as in to the parenting magazines as I once was.
Mom to a DD (8/02) and a DS (6/05)

Those are my thoughts also. I won't be renewing my subscription.

Their hands may be small but their feelings are just as big as ours.
I really like reading the writing of mothers as opposed to the advertising of various products and recycled info articles. I don't like all of the articles, but I enjoy the magazine as a whole. Reminds me of a Bitch or Bust magazine for moms in some ways.
Katie, mama to a pair of boys.
thank you everyone for your input!! i knew i would get great opinions
