    Default table & chair sets

My 15mo desperately needs a table and chairs to sit, color, eat, and bang. He currently hangs out in his booster for hours. He is a climber so I need something sturdy as well as something washable so he can do arts & crafts. Plus I don’t want to spend more than $65.

How washable are wood tables? How sturdy are the plastic ones? I was thinking of the little tikes table & chair set or something from Ikea. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

We have an IKEA set. We went there to buy the wooden table/chair set and ended up with a teal colored table and two purple chairs (there are stools that go with it as well). I can't remember how much we paid as we had a gift certificate we were trying to burn up.

We really like the table/chairs and are THRILLED that we went with the plastic one! Beth eats at it as well as does art projects on it.

I've attached picts of the table and chairs we have as well as the stool and the round version of the table (in green).

We have the Little Tikes Juniors picnic table set. I went with this because the seat/bench is attached to the table, so it can't scoot away from the table when DD is trying to sit down. Also, it's not too big. The regular sized chairs we encountered were still too tall for DD. With this set, she can seat herself. She colors and eats at this table. Also, it folds flat if you ever need to put it away. I think it'd fit under a bed if necessary. I'll try to post a link. We like this very much. We found it at TRU.

We have the wooden table and chair set from Ikea. It comes unfinished. I sanded it lightly and put about 3 coats of poly on it. It is easy to wipe off, but we have never done arts and crafts on it. My DD does arts and crafts on her LT picnic table. It is washable and has a lot of space for her to put her work.

We have the wooden table and chair set from IKEA. We meant to varnish it, but never did. He does arts and crafts there and I usually spread newspaper first. I put down placemats if he is eating there (usually only if he has a friend over, otherwise he eats at the table with us). We are really happy with it because it was easy to put together and very inexpensive. We really should varnish it, though!

We have a couple of wood end tables from Ikea in our family room. I think they were $10 or $15 each a couple of years ago. They're solid wood with a great, smooth, easy-to-clean finish. He can write on them with crayon and it comes right off. They look sort of like the table I've attached, but they're a light maple color.

When Liam was about a year we picked up this chair in white for $7.

    He LOVES them.

Try doing a search for chair. I was looking for info on the learning tower, didn't know its name, so I entered chair. I remember reading several posts about table and chair sets though unfortunately I can't remember specifics to share.

I have one of the older LT plastic tables and chairs. My 18-month old loves them though the plastic chairs slide on the wood floor since I haven't put anything on the bottoms. Great for crafts and I don't mind if she colors on it, which she does. The white plastic top is a little dingy but I've been too lazy to try and clean it up too much-probalby a plastic cleaning booster (cascade?) might help. I think for funtion, these tables or the LT picnic tables are nice-great for outdoors too, porches, sturdy enough for adults to use. However, I'd personally like a nicer wooden set for my living room.

Check out these from kidsurplus.com (they were just listed this afternoon); it's a great store!

Thank you all for your advice. We decided to go with the Little Tikes easy store table with bench Jr. I hadn't thought of that option but it fits all my criteria. Thanks again.
