    Default Bed rail

Our crib turns into a bed. We want to get a bed rail, Any recommendations? What should i be looking for in a bed rail anyway?
There are so many on the market and i don't know what will work well with the crib turned into toddler bed.
    Thank

Unfortunately, if you read the boxes of any of those bed rails, they all have warnings on them. They are all safe for use only with beds that have both a mattress and box spring, and NOT for use with a crib mattress only. The safety concern is about possible entrapment between the mattress and the rail. I guess that is a concern even when using bed rails on normal beds, but with the crib-toddler bed there is the added issue of the rails not being designed for use in that situation. I think the bars can slide between the slats in the floor of the crib since there's nothing solid below.

Here are a few threads here with good discussion of the issue:

We ended up buying a Jardine wood toddler bed with built on partial side rails. It's just the right height too, while her crib converted to toddler bed would have been too high for her to climb into at first (she was 23 months when we made the switch).
