    Default Elastic waist pants

Now that we're working on some serious potty training for DS, I'm even pickier about his fall wardrobe. Why is it so hard to find pants that don't have button or snap flys? (flies?) The summer has been great for working on training, because he can pull down his shorts himself, but I don't want a big set-back come fall and pants-season. I've already tried our usual standby (Carter's outlet, Old Navy, Gap) Any other suggestions?

I think it's a size thing. I noticed with DD that there aren't snap crotches anymore... 2T &3T.

I had the same issue but if you look carefully you can find them.

Land's End is the King in this area: their climber pants have a 'faux' buckle on the front but are really all elastic waist. They have them in denim/jean, cord and khaki style. I have a whole bunch! Here's an example:

LL Bean has them too, although be warned that their sizing seems pretty small compared to LE.

I also found some elastic waist pants at Hanna. These were posted in the Toddler Clothing Forum recently:

All The Way Home Pants: XS25200
    Big & Soft Pants: XS27308

Of course there are always sweats but I personally am too vain to stomach that, LOL.

LOL about the sweats comment! DS lives in them in the winter, but if we have to go anywhere, I always change him into something else!

We just got some of the climber pants from LE and they are terrific. Another option is flannel pants. They are pretty darn casual looking, but really easy to get on and off.

Here are some from Lands End :

And Kids Surplus has some Baby Gap ones as well:

While neither of these are particularly "outing" type clothes. If you're doing some serious training at home, they would be easy to get on and off.

Thanks for the ideas. I kind of need stuff for him to wear to daycare, so not a big fan of sweats or flannels. So the LE pants have a faux buckle? About the Hannas...they're out of his size. But how did you find those anyway? If I look through all their pants in Boys and Baby, I couldn't find them...

They are old codes. Someone mined them from an old catalog and posted them in the Toddler Clothing Board. You can also find old Hanna codes in Baby Bargains on Reality Layette.

Those LE pants are very nice! I bought several pairs last winter for my ds.

What size does your son wear? I'm guessing 3 or 4 since the Hannas are too small?

For winter, Gap sometimes gets non-sweats pull-on pants. I bought some last winter that were roll cuff cords.

What size does he wear? I have a couple of pairs of knit pants from www.babystyle.com on order - they should arrive later this week.

They only have two colors, navy and brown, but go up to size 5T. And a little nicer than sweats with the hemmed leg.

He's a 2T. The Hannas I saw were bigger than that. Let me know what the Baby style ones are like. They seem very sweat pant-ish. Would they withstand climbing around outside, etc. and in the winter, or are they too light for that?

Hanna has some cute ones and a 20% off code right now. I am finding the same challenge - LOL. I hope LE has the elastic-waist jeans again this year.
