Toddler bibs - what would you recommend?

DD is getting pretty talented with her meal messes. We have one of these vinyl bibs with the pockets but the food still ends up sliding onto her lap. We have a Baby Bjorn bib we like, but the hard plastic isn't very comfortable for DD and she cries for it to come off. I've seen long sleeve huge bibs that might work for us, but the one I saw was $20!

Am I stuck buying a $20 bib or are there others out there that you all like?

We have some from BRU by first years (big ELMO on the front) that have short sleeves, are vinyl with pocket and tie in the back. they are pretty long so we tuck it around and under DD before we put her in the highchair.

We love our SASSY bib with the plastic snap on tray at the bottom.

It is called the Sassy® Crumb Catcher Feeding Bib
"Polyester cotton ribbed neck and cotton terry cloth backing are soft on baby's skin. Crumb tray is top-rack dishwasher safe, and feeding bib is machine washable. Bib has a waterproof front lining."

I love the plastic tray that snaps onto the bottom that catches everything!! I have no problems with the bib. The great thing is the tray snaps completely off and you can put it in the dishwasher. I found mine at TRU in the baby section. You can also find it at Kidsurplus.com.

We have used this bib since DS has been eating solid foods. He's now 26 months and we're still using them!

And another one: Bumkins Junior Bibs. These are larger than the popular Bumkins Super Bib, and have short sleeves. There's also a long-sleeve version but I haven't tried them. I liked the regular Super Bib but it just wasn't up to the task of my messy eater. The Junior Bib's pocket sits lower on the lap and catches a lot more food, and the sleeves help keep it from shifting around. I love that they can be hand or machine washed, and they dry really quickly. So easy to clean I've been able to get along just fine with only two of them. Babycenter has them on sale right now, actually - $17.06 for a package of two.

They do run a bit big around the neck area, but they are nice and light, easy to wash, and the price is good. I also bought a long-sleeved one at Target recently....kinda ugly, but maybe $6-$7 and it gets the job done.

LOVE the Sassy Bibs that were mentioned above with the snap on crumb catcher. Just buy a couple because the cloth backing gets crudy and you throw it in the washer every so often, so you need a back-up while one is in the wash. The little "tray" can go in the dishwasher too.

I also like the Sally? Sussy? Huss bibs at Walmart. They snap up on the bottom to form a pocket just like the Sassy bibs, but can be unsnapped so they lay flat to fold up to go in a diaper bag. They are only about $3 at Walmart, but cost much more online from baby boutiques.

We LOVE the Sally Huss bibs from Wal-Mart! They are the best ones I've found anywhere. I like them because the pocket is big enough to actually catch the food & you can wipe them down after your DC eats. Saves me from having to wash them every night. I usually throw them in the wash once a week & really you only need 2-3 of them that way. We've been using them for about a year now & they have held up beautifully. Definitely a 'baby bargain' if ever I found one. lol
