When can toddlers eat popcorn?
When can toddlers eat popcorn?
I've heard a range of recommended ages, all the way from 2 to 4. I think it just boils down to whatever age your DC is able to sit still and (under supervision) chew a piece up before swallowing. (Remember, popcorn is more of an aspiration hazard vs. a choking hazard as it can be sucked into the lungs.)
I didn't give my 3 year old popcorn until just a couple months ago. And any time she eats it, she has to remain seated and only eat one piece at a time. If she gets up, the popcorn gets cut off. Needless to say, she remembers to stay seated if she really wants to keep eating it!

We started around 2 years old, it wasn't a conscious decision, it just happened that I made popcorn for myself and he wanted to try it, so I let him. The first few times,I would definitely keep a close eye on how well your DC does with it.
