    Default Car Seat for Toddler

    Hi Toby,

I have a 2 1/2 year old (28 lbs, 34 inches). I want to move him out of his Britax Roundabout soon so that I can put my 6 mos old in it. I'm looking for a combination harness/booster seat. I seem limited in my selection because my son is under 30 pounds (e.g., Century NextStep or Evenflo Apollo). (Or is 28lbs close enough?). I'm not interested in Cosco brands.

We live in Canada, so I'm not sure if the selection is different.

Also, I can't find the height limit on the Britax Roundabout. His shoulders are close to the top of the top strap, and I know he is small for his age.

    Thanks,

    Sandy

Any of the Evenflo, Graco or Century boosters with a front harness adjuster should do you well. They've all got taller harness slots than the Roundabout.

The Roundabout can be used until your son's shoulders are clearly above the top harness slot, and be sure to measure to the slot, not the slit in the fabric. The slit tends to pull down.
